The Trailer For The ‘Detective Pikachu’ Movie Is Here And We Are Not Okay
Soooo... Pikachu talks now?

The first trailer for Detective Pikachu has just hit the internet, and I don’t know what I expected when I heard they were making a live action Pokemon movie, but it definitely wasn’t this.
Give it a watch. Then we’ll talk.
So there are a few things to unpack here, but let’s start with the obvious thing: Pikachu can speak now. And he’s voiced by Ryan Reynolds.
It’s… weird.
me in 2014: haha shit sure is weird rn
me in 2018: trump is president. nazis run rampant. a dead brothel owner won a Nevada election and so did a 28 year old socialist. there are three recounts in florida. ryan reynolds is pikachu— sarah jeong (@sarahjeong) November 12, 2018
if you’re gonna make ryan reynolds the voice of pikachu then you can’t get angry when i wanna fuck pikachu

Then there’s the fact that both Pikachu and Jigglypuff have fur. Which I guess makes sense? I hate it, but it makes sense.
i always thought pikachu was smooth?? a rubber guinea pig of sorts. feeling a lot of feelings about this. much to think about https://t.co/qeWxyIv5bs
