Floridian rapper Denzel Curry was just in Australia for Laneway Festival — while he was here, he popped into triple j’s studios for Like A Version to perform an absolute balls-to-the-wall rendition of Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Bulls On Parade’.

Joined by a full band which included Melbourne’s Harts on lead guitar and offering up some stunning shredding facial expressions, Curry blitzed through his rendition of the 1996 classic.

Not content to play a faithful cover, Curry adds in his own third fiery verse where he calls Donald Trump Donald Duck. Trust us, when it comes through Curry, it lands like a brutal insult. Just between us, we reckon it’s an early contender for the best LAV of 2019.

Last week, his fellow Laneway act Jorja Smith paid tribute to Lauryn Hill (who is currently also touring Australia) with a cover of The Fugee’s ‘Killing Me Softly’.

Curry also performed a rendition of ‘Black Ballooons | 13Lack 13Alloonz’, off his recent three-part album Ta13oo. He was joined by Sampa The Great, who sung the soothing back-up vocals against Curry’s harsh verses, before adding her own rap. We demand a release of both tracks now, but in the meantime, you can listen to them both below.
