Here’s Everything We Know About Demi Lovato’s New Docu-Series ‘Dancing With The Devil’

After giving us one of the most intense music documentaries we’d seen in a while in 2017, Demi Lovato is giving us an even deeper look into her life with Dancing with the Devil. Here’s everything we know about the project.
Directed by Michael D. Ratner, the docuseries is set to premiere on YouTube on March 23 and run for four-parts. Here, the YouTube Originals project gives us “unprecedented access” into Demi Lovato’s “personal and musical journey during the most trying time of her life.”
The docuseries will feature interviews from her family, friends, and colleagues in addition to iconic musicians, Elton John and Christina Aguilera.

According to the trailer, we’re going to gain insight into the pressures of Disney, as well as Demi’s struggle with sobriety, and a look at her failed engagement. But, out of everything in the trailer, what took us back the most, was the docuseries’ exploration of her near-fatal overdose in 2018.
If you cast your minds back to 2018, you’ll remember that it was reported that Demi had ended up in hospital after an apparent overdose. Demi later took to Instagram to say, “I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.”
And now the trailer is giving us a personal look into what was really going on at the time.
“Demi’s good at making you believe she’s okay…” and “Demi’s good at hiding what she needs to hide,” were just some of the statements leading up to the moment. “I snapped,” Demi commented.
Further, the trailer showed us just how scary the situation was. “Her oxygen levels were dangerously low… We were watching all of her blood come out of her body into a machine.”
