Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, musicians have been adapting to the new normal in a variety of ways. A staple of that adaptation? Song requests.

Over the last few months, Instagram live and YouTube have been buzzing with covers from a variety of storied performers. Ben Gibbard of Death Cab For Cutie has taken on Phoebe Bridgers and the most memorable song from I Think You Should Leave. James Blake has taken on Frank Ocean. Basically, it’s been a smorgasboard of hat-tips, and we hope that it never ever ends.

But of all the new spins on old material, none reaches quite the antic energy of Delta Goodrem transforming the theme song of The Nanny.

Goodrem is, as we all know, Australia’s most elusive and fascinating popstar. Her Nanny cover thus has all of her usual antic energy, rattling with the intelligence and style of a performer who can do anything that she puts her mind to.

Basically, the thing is a work of great art, and we should appreciate every last minute of it.
