Picture this. You’re a Hollywood exec. Into your office strolls a young New Zealand filmmaker named Jason Lei Howden. “Hello,” Howden says. “Please give me money to make a movie about Daniel Radcliffe having guns for hands.”

Of course, the only question to ask the young Howden at that moment is, “How much?”

Guns Akimbo is that movie. A quasi-sci fi thriller starring the sheer amount of weaponry you’d expect to find at an NRA meeting, it follows Radcliffe’s wretched everyman as he gets involved in a black market, Battle Royale-style televised underground.

See, he’s a loser who spends his life trolling people from the safety of his dingy apartment. Only, when he pisses off the wrong goons, they break into his place, knock him out, and when he wakes up, he discovers that he has guns for hands.

Things don’t get any calmer from there, either. Radcliffe quickly finds he must fight his way through a guerilla-style street battle, all while enlisting the help of mysterious mercenary Nix (Australia’s Samara Weaving.)

Basically, it’s batshit. Birth. Movies. Death‘s Scott Wampler, reviewing the film for that site, compared the experience of watching Daniel Radcliffe blowing people apart with his gun-hands to “having someone toss a bucket of cocaine and bullets right into your stupid face.”

Nuff said.
