Cruella seeks to answer our most burning questions about the villainess: Why would a woman want a coat made of puppies? and Why does she hate dalmatians, specifically? Wouldn’t a coat made of poodles be softer?.
Both questions are answered in the film and spanned a lot of very funny memes.
It turns out the reason that Cruella de Vil despises dalmatian puppies enough to commit robbery and make a coat from their hides is that — spoiler alert — a pack of dalmatians chased her mother off a cliff, where she fell to her death. This is Cruella’s Joker movement, setting her on a path of animal cruelty and undeniable villainy.
