Confirmed: The NSW Government Is Reversing The Greyhound Racing Ban
Goodbye Mike Baird's credibility (what was left of it).
Yesterday we reported on the rumours that NSW Premier Mike Baird was preparing to reverse the state government’s greyhound ban, passed by the Parliament in August.
Now, after a two-hour long cabinet meeting this morning, we have confirmation that the government has officially back-flipped and will scrap the ban. The state government will re-legalise greyhound racing and will introduce a series of animal welfare measures designed to limit animal cruelty.
The decision comes less than 24 hours after Baird had a private dinner with Alan Jones, a vocal opponent of the greyhound racing ban.
I am immensely disappointed that greyhounds will once again be subjected to training & abuse for gamblers’ pleasure. https://t.co/1viXXd0DEe

Greyhound racing industry more important than vibrant nightlife in a major world city? RIP Mike Baird's credibility.
