Since arriving on the scene as a triple j Unearthed superuser way back when, Brendan Maclean has felt like an omnipresence in the media landscape of Australia in the past decade.

He’s turned up across stage and screen in movies like The Great Gatsby and productions like Velvet, created a hugely NSFW music video that won a slew of awards and performed with the likes of Amanda Palmer, Kate Miller-Heidke and Darren Hayes.

After dropping the Kira Puru-assisted bop ‘Hibernia’ back in August, Maclean has quickly followed up with ‘Where’s The Miracle’, which dropped on Spotify and Bandcamp earlier today. Maclean has not come to the party alone, either. Providing backing vocals on the song are two of the country’s finest vocalists, Montaigne and Ainslie Wills.

Meanwhile, sophisticate multi-instrumentalist Donny Benet is right in the pocket on bass, keeping the song kicking along with just the right amount of low end.

Throw in Sarah Blasko collaborator Sarah Belkner (who co-wrote the song with Maclean), as well as guitarist Alex Bennison (Jack River, Andy Bull) and drummer Evan Mannell (Kasey Chambers, Bertie Blackman), and you’ve got yourself a true all-star team.

‘Where’s The Miracle’ is out now. You can stream it below.
