Just after 3:00AM today, actors Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul both posted a sepia stock image of two donkeys to their Twitter accounts, accompanied only by the word “Soon”. It isn’t clear exactly what is impending, but Breaking Bad fans are already getting hyped to welcome back the one who knocks.

Premiering over a decade ago, Breaking Bad was the show everyone would mention whenever they had to make small talk.

The phenomenally popular series ran for five series and followed high school chemistry teacher Walter White (Bryan Cranston), who started making and selling meth after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

Accompanying through many of his criminal misadventures was Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), a drug user, former student and sweet boy who deserved better.

Many consider Breaking Bad to have had a perfect ending. However, when a series is as beloved as Breaking Bad, people will always want more. Thus, in service of those desires, series creator Vince Gilligan has been working on a film in the Breaking Bad universe.

According to sources speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be a sequel focusing on Jesse and premiering on Netflix. Further details have been scarce, and it isn’t even known if Cranston will be involved.

Fans have been chomping at the bit for a peek at the footage ever since filming reportedly took place earlier this year. Cranston and Paul’s coordinated tweets therefore have many eagerly anticipating the imminent release of a trailer, or at the very least some more news on the secretive project.

It’s possible that the actors are teasing an appearance by Walter and Jesse in ongoing Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul. However, as the fifth season is not scheduled to premiere until next year, fans consider it more likely that the donkeys photos are tied to some movie news.
