Rage Against The Machine Cover Band Release A Statement After Singer Pees On A Dude’s Face
"That's not something the rest of us expected."
Lest you mistakenly think that metal has somehow gone soft over the years, watered down by commercial interests and appeals to the mainstream, then please prepare yourself for the story of Brass Against, the Rage Against The Machine cover band that topped off a titanic gig by pissing on some dude’s face.
Yep, in-yer-face live shows are far from an extinct proposition, as the band’s lead singer, Sophia Urista proved during their set at the Welcome To Rockville festival. According to gig-goers, partway through the performance, Urista asked if there was anyone who wanted to be urinated upon, and one megafan was immediately happy to help.
Climbing to the stage, the punter laid down in front of Urista, who dropped her pants and let forth a stream, much to the delight (and shock) of the audience at large.
I mean, just watch this clip (content warning, obviously) and tell me that gigs have gotten more anodyne over the years:

The band later issued something like a retraction for the consensual stunt. “Sophia got carried away,” they wrote on Twitter. “That’s not something the rest of us expected, and it’s not something you’ll see again at our shows.”
We had a great time last night at Welcome to Rockville. Sophia got carried away. That's not something the rest of us expected, and it's not something you'll see again at our shows. Thanks for bringing it last night, Daytona.

The band also clarified that Urista cleaned up the puddle of wee herself, lest staff at the venue be tasked with the work. “Lysol and paper towels,” the band explained, helpfully.
Sophia actually cleaned it up herself after the set. Lysol and paper towels.

So that’s something.
