Please Enjoy These Bodybuilders Trying To Convince A Fictitious Child To Stop Stealing Fudge
Weird flex but okay.
There’s an app called Cameo that I’ve never really understood. On it, you can pay money to one of a selection of famous (or mildly notable) people, who will record a personalised video of your choice. As the New York Times put it, “now you can just pay celebrities to say stuff”.
There are also quite a few bodybuilders you can pay to say stuff, and today someone has used that to very funny effect, by pretending to be a mother who just needs a video from a scary, muscly person telling her son to stop stealing fudge.
Comedians Nick Ciarelli and Brad Evans sent a bunch of bodybuilders the message in question, claiming to be a woman named Ashley who needs “help disciplining my awful son”.
“His name’s Garrett, and he won’t stop eating fudge out of my fudge draw,” ‘Ashley’ told the bodybuilders. “Will you please make a video telling my son that if he doesn’t stop stealing from Mother’s special fudge drawer, you’ll drive your motorcycle all the way to our house and spank his bottom red? Please make the video scary. I want my son to have nightmares about you for the rest of his life. Thank you so much for your time!”

This is a baffling message by any standards — for one, who has a specialised fudge drawer? Who even keeps fudge in a drawer? Why not simply lock said drawer rather than paying bodybuilders in the first place? And yet, incredibly, quite a few bodybuilders either fell for the message or just wanted to get paid, because Ciarelli and Evans received replies.
They’ve collected the videos below, and it’s really something. I don’t know about you, but I will absolutely not be stealing from the special fudge drawer for at least a week, possibly more.
Me and @bradfordevans contacted a bunch of bodybuilders on Cameo, pretending to be a mom who needs them to scare her son so he stops eating fudge from her fudge drawer while she’s at work. these are the ones that responded pic.twitter.com/IwLL9SKa2a
