Billy Corgan Riding A Rollercoaster Is This Week’s Best Music Meme
This will be the best 14 seconds of your day.
It’s been a pretty strong year for music memes so far: We’ve had Flume’s inexplicable song title, Gladys Berejiklian shutting down Snugglepot and Cuddlepie, and Egg Boy’s musical anti-fascist egg smash.
And once again, the internet has delivered. Earlier in the week, a video combining Billy Corgan’s ‘1979’ vocals with a clip of a rollercoaster ride went viral — it’s easy to see why, as it is somehow the most perfect thing Corgan has ever been involved in:

Spectacular. Brilliant. Never the same.
Since then, a bunch of imitations have sprung forth from the various outposts of the internet — featuring artists like Queen, Linkin Park, Celine Dion, Ian Curtis, and more. Check them out below, and please keep them coming.

Apart from being the meme subject of our dreams, Billy Corgan just announced a solo tour of the UK, performing tracks from his last record Ogilala alongside Smashing Pumpkins classics.
The band have locked in a number of shows later this year — but despite a bit of speculation that they’d be on this year’s Splendour line-up, they haven’t announced any dates Down Under just yet.
