Baker Boy, Dallas Woods And Sampa The Great Just Released 2020’s Hottest Collab
The track's already got a TikTok remix, too.
Baker Boy and Dallas Woods have enlisted heavyweights Sampa The Great for their new track, ‘Better Days’ — and scored a remix that’s heading straight to TikTok.
The track, a mix of English, Yolngu Matha and Zambian language Bemba, is a funk-inflected uplifter: while it was written last year, it’s pretty much perfect for this shit-storm that’s been 2020.
Hot off the heels of ‘Move’, released back in April, it’s Danzal Baker’s second track of the year, ahead of his anticipated debut album, due sometime this year. This isn’t far the first time Woods and Baker have worked together — in 2018, the duo teamed up for ‘Black Magic’. And now, Sampa’s in the mix, something she said she was very excited about.
“Our common ground is bringing our cultures to the forefront in what is the mainstream right now.” Sampa The Great said in a statement alongside the track’s release.
“That’s something that I always saw and always admired in both Baker Boy and Dallas, and something I wanted to do for myself. Sometimes we put so much strain on artists, that they are even afraid to grow. I’m glad Baker Boy feels like he can actually express this element of himself. He doesn’t have to be one thing and that’s really beautiful.”
The track also was released with a remix by Airwolf, which will be used by TikTok in a new marketing campaign. Except to hear it a lot.
Find the track below, with the dance challenge-ready remix also available on streaming services. Last week, Sampa released a remix of ‘Time’s Up’, featuring Junglepussy.
