‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Fans Are Slamming Channel Ten For Shameless Queerbaiting
The network has yet to respond.
Channel Ten has been accused of queerbaiting by Bachelor in Paradise fans, after teasing a kiss between two female contestants that was actually between a female contestant and a man with long hair.
An early promo for the series implied there would be a kiss between bisexual contestant Megan Marx and a mysterious brunette during a late-night swim.
“She’s absolutely gorgeous, she’s definitely my type of girl,” Marx could be heard saying in the promo, over footage of fellow contestant Elora Murger. The clip then cuts to grainy footage of Marx making out with someone with long, dark hair.
Here's the part of the promo where Channel 10 deliberately cut together Megan talking about Elora with her kiss w/ a long-haired brunette, to make it seem like they were going to deliver a same sex couple. Turns out it was Thomas. Queerbaiting at its finest. #BachelorInParadise pic.twitter.com/ywKqzC0YUb

But on Tuesday night’s episode, it was revealed that Marx was actually kissing Canadian contestant Thomas Perras. And man, were fans ever pissed.
IT WAS A MAN WITH LONG HAIR. #BachelorInParadiseAU pic.twitter.com/x7Ioq7Koki

The feeling when you realise the “same sex kiss” that was “leaked” was between a girl and a long-haired male git.#BachelorInParadiseAU pic.twitter.com/ufjkhyCfTs

@oshergunsberg @BachParadiseAU you need to explain why you queerbaited the viewers, and why you naught it was okay to do that. #BachelorinParadiseAU
