The Entire World Has Fallen In Love With Australia’s Own Aunty Donna on Netflix
We knew they would!
It seems the entire world has learned that the Aunty Donna boys are hilarious, a fact many Aussies have known for a long time after their new series dropped on Netflix last week.
Over six 20ish minute episodes, Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun showcases the parody band’s unique brand of absurd, wholesome Aussie humour in a series of crazy sketches, erotic songs, and improvised parody that is exactly the kind of thing we all need right now.

Produced by Ed Helms (The Office, The Hangover franchise), and features a whole bunch of epic cameos, ranging from iconic parody musician Weird Al Yankovic (appearing as a dark vampiric figure consumed by parody), to the voice of Kristen Schaal (Bob’s Burgers, Flight of the Concords) as a talking dishwasher the boys kick to the curb, to Ed Helms himself in a sketch where he confesses his real name is Egg.
There’s loads more cameos from outstanding comedians, but I’d rather not ruin the thrill!
If you’re a huge fan of surrealistic Australian sketch comedy (and who isn’t??) I strongly urge you to check out Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun on @Netflix. And be sure to keep an eye out for the suave, dashing vampire that turns up in episode 5. pic.twitter.com/jO1TCT4uZO

Aunty Donna made their name as comedy group from Melbourne and toured comedy festivals all over Australia and the world. Many people would also know them from the hilarious sketches they shared on Youtube and their ongoing award-winning podcast. The group consists of Mark Samual Bonanno, Broden Kelly, and Zachary Ruane, and they’re all hysterical in their own unique way. For longtime fans, the Netflix series contains numerous nods to their iconic live show sketches and podcast funnies.
Imagine thinking Egg Helms was really named "Ed"…

So, if you’re in need of a lot of laughs, or maybe even just some briefly sweet wholesome relief from 2020’s…2020ness, give Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun a burl. I know I will be, especially after seeing the sheer mass outpouring of love from all over the world for these boys, and their collection of kooky characters.
