Conservatives Have Absolutely Shit Themselves About A Gay Rat Wedding
We NEED more gay rat representation on our screens!
Unfortunately, it is not a nice day for a gay rat wedding.
In the latest instalment of conservatives absolutely pooping their bland dacks about children’s cartoons (a surprisingly prevalent genre of news story) a cartoon gay rat wedding has been PULLED off the air.
Over in the States, Alabama Public Television has cancelled an episode of the PBS children’s show Arthur, which has progressively featured a same-sex wedding between an animated rat and his aardvark partner, citing concerns that it would “violate” the trust of audiences.
It’s very important to note that “animated rat” and “aardvark” are not gay tribes, but are actually the types of animals these characters are in the cartoon.

The episode is called ‘Mr Ratburn and the Special Someone’, and it was pulled after airing on May 13th, with the reasoning that the “vast majority” of parents would not be familiar with its content.
“Although we strongly encourage parents to watch television with their children and talk about what they have learned afterwards… parents trust that their children can watch APT without their supervision,” Mr Mckenzie told NBC.

In a People interview, Arthur creator Marc Brown appeared taken aback by the controversy, saying he was “very disappointed” by Alabama Public Television’s decision.
“I’m really proud of that episode,” he explained. “And I will defend it to anybody who wants to talk about it.”

"Alabama public television refused to show Arthur's gay rat wedding" is the most 2019 thing I've heard in a while. pic.twitter.com/KvGPIRJthF

Alabama public television refused to show an episode of "Arthur" with a gay rat wedding.
Here in New York, we just think it's romantic when a rat carries a pizza home to his husband.
