Alex The Astronaut, Once Again, Has Told Mark Latham To Get The Fuck Out Of Her Mentions
"Stop, I’ve never met you this is just online bullying."
Alex The Astronaut has drawn the fire of Mark Latham lately, and she’s had enough, telling the One Nation politician to kindly get the fuck out of her mentions.
Latham first noticed Alex Lynn a few weeks ago, after she performed at a New Energy Climate Panel organised by Jack River. Latham didn’t like that ‘airhead’ musicians were trying to speak about our climate crisis, and, despite absolutely no-one asking, tweeted out his dismay.
“You can’t make this stuff up,” he wrote. “On Thursday night at the Seymour Centre, Matt Kean and Shadow Minister for Surrender, Adam Searle, will present their new joint 100 percent renewables policy, set to the music of ‘Alex The Astronaut’, as organised by another airhead singer, Holly Rankin [River].”
Shortly after, he was frankly bodied by Lynn’s response, where she pointed out that she and Rankin are far from airheads, and that maybe Latham simply needed to have a nap to shake off the crankies.
“Hi Mark, strange tweet maybe have a nap,” she wrote. “I’ve got a physics/ maths degree and holly’s studying law, I see you studied economics. Maybe you should go back and have a look at climate science. Scary stuff. Hope you aren’t too worked up about this. That’d be a sad way to live.”
Evidently not-at-all mad, Latham has now taken aim at Lynn again with the odd choice to retweet, several weeks later, her tweet about her inclusion on the annual Out 100 list, a celebration of LGBTIQ+ figures. For some reason, Latham retweeted that several weeks later, writing that he “cannot listen to this old man anymore”.
Lynn responded by asking him to stop, suggesting that perhaps an elected official shouldn’t be trolling 20something women online.
“Stop, I’ve never met you,” she replied. “This is just online bullying.”

You can’t make this stuff up: why would anyone make up someone like Latham, who is currently trying to push a horrific anti-trans bill through NSW parliament?
Fellow Alex, Alex Lahey, also responded to Latham’s tweet, saying “you just said way more about yourself in this tweet than I could’ve ever said about you.”
“But I will say this – there is no place for bigotry, sexism and homophobia in our society, and it will never be tolerated or excused,” she wrote. Move on, mate.”
Alex The Astronaut’s debut album The Theory Of Absolutely nothing came out earlier this year: she chatted to us about it track-by-track a few months back. Watch the music video for single ‘Caught In The Middle’ below.
