Trippy electro pop duo and festival favourites Empire Of The Sun return this month with a brand new record, Ice On The Dune. It’s been a long wait since their debut — 2008’s ARIA Award-winning Walking On A Dream — but the album has just about everything you could possibly want and/or expect from Empire: sparkling pop hooks, otherworldly melodies, and all of the feels.

Singer Luke Steele and producer Nick Littlemore reunited for the project after several years apart; Littlemore’s been busy working with PNAU, and Steele has been collaborating with Silverchair’s Daniel Johns. “We’ve always had a pretty powerful musical chemistry,” Steele told me in a recent interview. “It’s like the yin and the yang. It’s funny with us, we just need to be together in the same room and it crystallises.”

The band debuted the record at their recent Vivid Live performance after testing it out at SxSW — and now you can listen to an exclusive stream of it below, ahead of its June 14 release.
