There aren’t many national pastimes more treasured in this fair country than the Great Aussie Prank. Earlier this week, a video recording of two bloody drongos who got stung by a couple of legendary practical jokers reminded us of that.

There was the exhilarating suspense of waiting for those flamin’ galahs to go from severely confused to straight-up pissed; the rush of adrenaline from hearing a complete stranger call another complete stranger a “fuckin’ dickhead”; the burst of happiness when you realise both tricked chumps will go and tell the missus about that bloody fuckin’ asshole dickhead who called them up and claimed they called them this ‘arv is all apart of the pranking magic.

So, to keep that beautiful feeling alive, here is a thorough and very scholarly list paying homage to all the patriots out there who have pulled off a fuckin’ ripper of a prank.

Australia’s Worst Son Terrifies His Jittery Dad, Over And Over And Over And Over Again

We’ve posted this video before, and I make no apologies for posting it again now. It is a masterpiece; a total work of art. All should aspire to its greatness. Never not watch this video.

Truck Driver Receives “Courtesy Call” About Engine Brakes; Flies Off The Handle In Unprecedented Rage Spiral

After getting a call from a representative from “the transport department” about the use of his engine brakes through towns (a no-no for some town folk), fired-up truckie Grant loses his shit immediately.

Wasting no time in berating the living hell out of his caller, Grant — who’s driving at the time — uses his engine brakes right then and there on the phone. “Ya listenin’? Didja hear that, didja? That’s a fuckin’ engine brake. It’s a safety feature on a fuckin’ truck.”

“If I wanna fuckin’ use the c*nt, I’ll fuckin’ use it, right?”

Ahh Grant, mate, we hope you’re having a cold one right now and keeping your blood pressure at normal levels.

Smart-Arsed Drive-Thru Customer Pays For $4.95 Burger In All 5 Cent Coins

Please, please don’t watch the intro to this video — I altered the link so it would start at 42 seconds for a reason: to protect you. You did not sign up for the atrociously bad theme song and montage of ‘That Aussie Family’; you came here for the pranks, and the pranks are what you’ll get. Also, try to ignore the cliched sound effects which make you feel like you’re watching a Japanese game show.

Hamish And Andy Trick Zoo-Goers Into Thinking They’re Watching Real Gorillas Throw Frisbees And Ride Bikes

Leave it to the masters to fool a whole bunch of Aussies into believing an ape can operate a remote control toy car.

Big ups to the science guy for explaining everything away so expertly, and the speed dealer sunnies-wearing stunned mullets for believing literally anything.

Fark you’re kidding.

Nah no way.

You’re fuckin’ jokin’.

The Many Pranks Played By — And On — National Treasure Karl Stefanovic

I was going to use just one of Karl’s famous crackers here, but then I found this compilation video and it was obviously a total game changer. From his “how good are the cookies there” teleprompter prank and crossing to the sports reporter without any teleprompter, to becoming a complete lunatic when the shoe’s on the other foot, Karl’s got you covered for superb on-air ocker pranks.

Angry Dad’s Bloody Mongrel Sons Swap Icing Sugar For Talcum Powder On His Donut; He Reacts Accordingly

I couldn’t not include one from the range of ripper Angry Dad pranks. The poor guy is the biggest, angriest ol’ fella two punk teenage sons could ever ask for.

Put talcum powder on a Nutella donut, and left the bait for AD to swallow,You wouldn’t read about it, he took the bait #spewing #literally

Bart Simpson Reverse-Charge Calls Generic Aussie Household; Generic Aussie Dad Loses Shit

Yeah okay, this is a fictional prank and it plays to a bit of a crass stereotype, but it’s definitely happened for real in some form or another. Bart Simpson can be an honourary Aussie for this alone.
