7 Things Uni Students Actually Want For Christmas
Forget the scented candle, Aunty Carol. How about a months worth of rent instead?
Christmas can be confusing when people are trying to buy presents for you. You’re still a student but you’re not in school, and you’re not quite an an adult yet either.
What they don’t realise is uni students are actually easy to buy for. There are plenty of things you really need (living expenses) you’d just appreciate if someone took care of for you.
Here’s a list of things uni students really want for Christmas. Feel free to share it with anyone who’s stuck on ideas.
#1 Socks And Underwear
You’d happily spend $100 on a night out, but $30 on socks and underwear has you like, “Ugh, why so expensive?”
You could always do with more socks and underwear, but you’d prefer if you didn’t have to buy them for yourself. Why can’t someone just buy them for you?
#2 A Whole Month Of Rent
Rent is, like, the most generous thing someone could give you. That 3×3 room you live in is ridiculously expensive.
Imagine all the things you could buy with a month’s worth of rent! Now imagine being able to buy all those things because someone actually paid your rent.
#3 5,000 Euros
Finding amazing flight deals is the easy part. It’s the spending money that kills you (both the conversion rate and how much you’ll spend).
If someone took care of your overseas cashflow you could stop talking about the trip you plan to take and start planning your itinerary.
#4 Textbooks
One of the rudest things about uni is how much the textbooks are. They cost so much and you only refer to them once in week seven.
The price of all your textbooks is probably the same as 5,000 euros, so this is a great hint for anyone who thinks holiday spending money is a waste.
#5 A Years Worth Of Myki/Opal/Parking
If someone could just throw down some money so you don’t get an infringement notice next year, that would be great.
Nothing would be better than being able to get to class hassle free without the need to buy train trips or parking.
#6 Alcohol
Be honest, this your biggest living expense as a student. Even if someone could just get you enough to cover your summer break, that would be great.
Extra points if you get a top quality drop, instead of the unpronounceable “made in former Yugoslavia” lighter fluid you’ve been drinking up until now. Nothing beats waking up after a night out and not feeling like your brain has outgrown your skull.
#7 Just Like, A Loaf Of Bread
Seriously, if somone could just take care of all the boring food in your life things would be a lot easier. You can pick the fancy places to treat yo’self, but you’d rather someone help out when it comes to midweek lunches.
If people want you to eat healthy and actually eat vegetables, they can buy them for you for Christmas.
See, Christmas shopping for students doesn’t have to be hard. Subtly send this list to everyone you know and be prepared for the best Christmas ever.
