IT’S ON. At about 3:45 this afternoon, news came through that Malcolm Turnbull and Julie Bishop have met with Prime Minister Tony Abbott requesting that the leadership of the federal Parliamentary Liberal Party be declared open, raising the prospect of Tony Abbott facing the end of his Prime Ministership. Malcolm Turnbull has resigned his Ministry, indicating that he intends to challenge for the leadership. Since then, people have gone fucking nuts. 

Is this the end for Tone? How will the nation’s satirists cope with a Turnbull Prime Ministership? Are we stuck in some hellish purgatory where this is doomed to play out forever without end, in payment for some past sin we’re guilty of? Only one way to find out.
