Zayn Malik left One Direction over a year ago, but to some the betrayal is still as raw and staggering today as it was then. It doesn’t help that since leaving the band, Zayn has not held back in saying various shady things, like: “I always wanted to go, from the first year really. I never really wanted to be in the band. I just gave it a go because it was there at the time,” and “That’s not music I would listen to. “I want to make music that I think is cool shit. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for.”

Ooft.

Zayn Malik Just Quit One Direction; Be Gentle With Their Fans Today

Zayn’s solo album was pretty successful (despite his insistence on making videos with blooming vagina flowers) yet he’s already turning his attention to television. According to Variety, Zayn is teaming up with Law and Order creator Dick Wolf (how did these two meet!?) to make a TV show for NBC about “the formation of a hugely successful boy band” that will be “inspired” by his time in One Direction.

The show will be called Boys and will aim to capture the “excitement, competition, and fun” of being in a massively successful pop band, “but also provide an inside look into the pressure that follows”. This has the potential to be awesome; Empire has proven that shows about the music industry can be very excellent. It also has the potential to be very passive aggressive. Pray for Directioners today.
