While You Were Sleeping, Australia’s Blobfish Made It Into Global News

The Blobfish Wins Global Recognition, Matscotship:
The Australian Blobfish — a gelatinous Pacific-dwelling abomination of all that is good and right — took home the award for World’s Ugliest Animal overnight, scraping together 795 votes of the 3000 posted in an online poll.
The blobfish — who’s been an internet favourite for a while now — has won not only global notoriety, but the honor of being named mascot of the Ugly Animal Preservation Society. “It’s a light-hearted way to make people think about conservation,” said award representative Coralie Young, somewhat hopefully.
The competition was put together by the British Science Association, who announced the award at an annual festival in Newcastle, England. The runner up was another Antipodean beast: New Zealand’s not-actually-terrible-looking Kakapo bird-thing.
More than anything, though, the news comes as a timely reminder that we need to talk about THIS:
Jimmy Fallon’s Breaking Bad Parody Is The Greatest Ever:
Featuring Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Bob Odenkirk, Jay Leno, Colin Quinn, The Roots, and an excellent joke about One Direction and Anthony Weiner.

Rob Lowe Does A Pretty Great Mayor Quimby Impersonation:
It’s the trailer for National Geographic’s forthcoming Killing Kennedy biopic, based on the book by Bill Reilly, and starring Rob Lowe as JFK, Ginnifer Goodwin as Jackie Kennedy, and Will Rothhaar as Lee Harvey Oswald.
The ‘global television event’ takes place on November 10.
