Watch The Best Bits From The Simpsons’ Incredible 25th Anniversary Live Show
Conan O'Brien, Hank Azaria, Jon Lovitz, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardly Smith et al., in an all-singing, all-dancing, all-Simpsons extravaganza.
This weekend, The Simpsons definitively proved how old you are by celebrating their 25th anniversary at The Hollywood Ball. Those lucky enough to get a ticket were treated to an all-singing, all-dancing spectacular hosted by Hank Azaria (Apu, Moe and Chief Wiggum) and featuring favourites from the cast and crew, in a venue packed with inflatable donuts, Simpsons character cutouts, and a lifesized replica of the family seated on their couch: the perfect photo op.

The footage that’s so far made its way online (courtesy of YouTube user WitherWings7 and her shaky camera phone) suggests that all the best bits were musical, with the cast and friends of the show joined by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra to perform a bunch of fan-favourites.
Like Nancy Cartwright and Yeardly Smith as Lisa and Bart in the Mary Poppins spoof, ‘Minimum Wage Nanny’.

Jon Lovitz in character as Troy McClure, who was originally voiced by the late Phil Hartman. In this scene, Lovitz is reprising McClure’s role as “the talking human being” in the show’s musical version of Planet Of The Apes.
–
Conan O’Brien also performed in homage to Phil Hartman: he played travelling monorail salesman Lyle Landley, who sung The Music Man spoof from the O’Brien penned 1993 episode, ‘Marge vs Monorail’.

And finally, here’s Weird Al singing ‘Homer and Marge’ — a parody of ‘Jack and Diane’.
