It’s here! The first full trailer for X-Men: Days Of Future Past was released overnight, and it’s pretty dramatic. Based on Chris Claremont’s 1980 dystopian epic of the same name, the film will introduce time travel, a staple of X-Men comics, into Fox’s cinematic universe. What does that mean? Basically, it means tonnes of famous people.

With its cross-generational plot, the film merges the characters and cast of Brian Singer’s original X-Men trilogy (Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin and Ellen Page) with those of 2011’s ultra successful prequel, X-Men: First Class (James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence). It’ll also feature Game Of Thrones superstar Peter Dinklage, some giant exterminating robots, and, as the trailer shows, fuck off displays of mutant awesomeness.

It’s ambitious, risky, and could be next year’s biggest blockbuster when it hits cinemas on May 23.
