Watch Chris Hemsworth Fight A Whale In The Very Creepy ‘In The Heart Of The Sea’ Trailer

I thought this was some weird Moby Dick ripoff, but apparently In The Heart Of The Sea is a true story about a whaleship crew who tried to sail to South America in lifeboats after their ship was sank by a sperm whale. The trailer, which dropped earlier today, gives off this spooky, unsettling vibe, and not just because there’s a giant whale trying to mess shit up; going off some little snippets in the trailer, I’m pretty sure almost everyone kills each other, and since the cast were on a diet of 600 calories a day (read: very little), there’s probably some starvation/cannibalism stuff going on too.

I also like how the words “Moby Dick” are just kind of hastily shoved in there, as though people wouldn’t get the giant nasty whale reference.

In The Heart Of The Sea has a March 15, 2015 release date in the US.
