It's hideous. It is just hideous.

Remember when The Simpsons was so good Family Guy was universally regarded as a half-assed rip-off that couldn’t hold a candle to it? Those days are sadly gone but The Simpsons somehow lives on, like the reanimated zombie corpse of a loved one you just can’t bear to put out of its misery, even though the beloved face you recognise so well is visibly rotting and all trace of humanity and warmth has long fled its cold, dead eyes.

Now that corpse has teamed up with Family Guy for an upcoming crossover episode, set to air on September 28 . A five-minute preview aired at Comic-Con over the weekend, because there’s nothing raging fanboys like more than cynical ploys to turn them upside down and shake them by the ankles until their lunch money falls out. The saddest part of the trailer is that the funniest bits (not ‘funny’, ‘funniest’) come from the Family Guy characters, while the family you grew up with tell jokes that David Koch would be embarrassed by.

Anyway, here’s five minutes of your childhood being defiled by a couple of middle-aged marketing executives who’ll make more from this monstrosity than you will in the next few years of your damn life.
