I think Donald Glover runs Hollywood now.

There’s apparently a new rule in the entertainment industry that Donald Glover has to be involved in all the best things. It’s a rule I’m fine with, btw.

To recap: since leaving Community, Glover has won a pair of Golden Globes for his excellent FX series Atlanta, released his third studio album as Childish Gambino to widespread critical acclaim, and has landed gigs as Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo prequel film and as Simba in Disney’s new take on The Lion King. Also he’s in the new Spiderman movie, no big deal.

As if that weren’t enough, it’s now been revealed Glover and his brother Stephen, with whom he collaborates on Atlanta, have another show in the works. According to Marvel Television, FXX has just placed a ten episode series order for an adult-oriented Deadpool cartoon that Donald and Stephen will write, showrun and executive produce.

The internet is pretty into the idea.

There’s not much more information to be had at the moment, with Marvel’s announcement making no mention of who might voice the foul-mouthed antihero. Assuming Ryan Reynolds isn’t keen though, I can think of one great suggestion right off the bat.

The series will likely go to air in 2018.
