Two Escaped Llamas Sparked A Police Chase In Arizona And The United States Ground To A Halt
They went on the llam.
If the internet’s good for one thing, it’s large groups of people indulging in moments of temporary collective insanity. So it was this morning, when two escaped llamas in Sun City, Arizona, became the object of a large-scale police chase, rolling coverage from several major news networks and the undivided attention of the greater part of the United States.
The llamas led police and anti-llama vigilantes on a chase throughout Sun City and managed to spectacularly evade capture for long enough to become folk heroes, as evidenced in this FOX News report where the anchor, who clearly doesn’t give a damn anymore, respectfully refers to one of the llamas by the name “Llama”.

It’s not yet known where the llamas escaped from, but their Thelma and Louise-style dash for freedom has captured the hearts of a nation with nothing else important going on right now. #llamas is the #1 trending topic on Twitter worldwide at the moment, and as can be reasonably expected in times like these, the internet has responded by making every fucking llama joke under the sun.

If you’re wondering what the fuss is about, here’s a 25-minute video of the chase. In fairness, it is oddly compelling.
