If procrastinating were a criminal offence, I would have been locked up with a lifetime sentence a long time ago.

I’ve spent hours scrolling through Tumblr aimlessly, even though assignment due dates creep closer. As a result, I’ve compiled some of the best posts to help me accurately sum up the highs and lows of being a uni student.

It’s no secret that being a uni student means having to develop some pretty solid organisational skills, but it’s not until you’re actually in the thick of it that you realise how much juggling it takes to maintain a social life and get work done. Cue the sad violin music.

If I could warn upcoming uni students of one thing, it would be of all the reading. We all have those moments where we’re reading and suddenly realise we haven’t absorbed any of the information from the last three pages. I don’t know about you, but these moments seem to be more of a regular occurrence ever since I’ve had to do readings every week.

Group assignments are infamous for their tendency to be done completely by one unlucky person, usually the smartest or the most hard working. If you’re that one person who always ends up doing all the work, on behalf of all the underachievers out there, we thank you for your hard work and service.

We all have little rituals or things we say to ourselves before heading into a big exam. In this case, the pep talk seems to be more of a harsh jab than a motivational quote.

University is like a rollercoaster ride. There are parts that are fun. There are parts where you don’t know which way is up. There are parts where you wish you never got on the ride in the first place. No matter what you’re feeling, I’m sure it falls under one of these four emotions.

My poor bank account has yet to recover from the serious dent that occurs every semester. I get too upset just thinking about how many puppies I could have instead of textbooks by now.

I don’t know about you, but it takes a lot of preparation and quite a bit of proofreading before I muster up the courage to send my lecturer an email. Am I asking a stupid question? Am I coming off too strong? Am I annoying them? It’s replies like these when you realise lecturers are human too. I know right, weird.

Nothing is quite as exhilarating as that final rush of adrenaline that helps you finally hit that essay word count. This usually happens the night before it’s due and after multiple cups of coffee. Kermit explains this feeling better than I ever could.
