The Trailer For ‘Jackie’ Will Really, Really Stress You Out

It's about the aftermath of the murder of JFK, so you know, appropriate.

I can’t imagine a time when the JFK assassination won’t be rich pop culture fodder — for better or worse. There have been many trashy telemovies concerned with the drama and tragedy surrounding the Kennedys, but I gotta say, my favourite interpretation will always be Lana Del Rey as Jackie O and A$AP Rocky as John F. Kennedy, and I will not apologise for that.

As you can probably imagine, Pablo Larraín’s Jackie is very different. The film, which has already attracted Oscar buzz for star Natalie Portman, follows the days after the shooting of JFK in which Jackie Kennedy had to maintain a calm public face in the midst of national chaos.

If the trailer is anything to go by, this film will be sad, stressful and dripping with prestige. “There will never be another Camelot,” Portman says, over a shot of her staring into space, blood stains on her dress. Enjoy!

Jackie is out in December 2016.
