Tina Fey Is Making A Disney Movie About Witches

As we are all aware, former Saturday Night Live comedian and 30 Rock star Tina Fey is an inherently higher form of life than the rest of us, which would be true enough even if she wasn’t continuing the vaunted history of excellent things with witches in them.
According to Hollywood Deadline Fey’s been attached to the film, currently with the imaginative title of Untitled Witch Project, as a producer and star of the Ghostbusters-style comedy which will be developed with Disney. Depending on your worldview this is either another home-run from one of our decade’s greatest comedians, or proof-positive that all successful, outgoing women are secret agents of Satan and are getting less worried about showing it.
A few outlets were incorrectly reporting that Fey’s project would be a sequel to the 1993 masterpiece Hocus Pocus, starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Bette Midler’s giant rabbit teeth which featured scenes of cinematic wonderment like this:
However, it’s since been confirmed that Fey hasn’t taken up the Hocus Pocus mantle, and will instead be delivering something entirely new. While that’s a shame, the jump from ‘crazy cat lady’ to ‘actual witch’ is probably one Fey can handle with aplomb, given she’s been rocking the former since her 30 Rock days:
