We’re not saying you should be pirating Netflix but, hypothetically, if you wanted to there’s a bug in Chrome that makes it really easy (apparently).

A pair of security researchers named David Livshits and Alexandra Mikityuk say they’ve discovered a vulnerability in Chrome that allows you to save copies of something you’re streaming. The bug takes advantage of something called the ‘Widevine EME/CDM’ technology Chrome uses to encrypt video. Because they’re pretty nice guys the pair told Google about the vulnerability on May 24, and oddly enough it hasn’t been fixed yet. They said they’d wait 90 days (until August 22) to reveal details to the public.

Point is, if you’re hypothetically thinking of taking advantage of the bug, you should do it soon because it’s only a matter of time before Google patch it up (only before being hacked again because the internet is wonderful open-source merry-go-round).

Alternatively, you could make use of a new tool Netflix have announced. According to Thrillist, the company is planning a feature which allows you to download stuff directly to your computer to watch it later without an internet connection, kind of like Spotify. Which is great news because waiting for Lady Dynamite  to load through my shitty internet connection is really giving me the Livshits (sorry).
