Sydney legends The Vines are set to reunite later this month for two shows alongside Get Born hitmakers Jet.

The band announced this morning that they’ve signed as the support act for Jet’s Sydney shows later this month — marking the first time the original bandmates have played together since they split way back in 2004.

Their final 2004 show at Sydney’s Annandale Hotel has become the stuff of legend: tensions were so high within the band that bassist Patrick Matthews walked off stage mid set and hopped into a cab, never to return — until now.

The band will be playing tracks from their first two albums, Highly Evolved and Winning Days, at the Metro Theatre and the Enmore on May 30 and 31. The Enmore show has already sold out, but there are some tickets still hanging around for the Metro gig — check out the details below.

As for Jet, they’re about to start circling the country on their ‘Get Re-Born’ anniversary tour, celebrating 15 years (!) since the release of the album that made them a household name. How time flies.

They’ll play show in most major cities around the country on the tour — for all the details about that one, head over to Live Nation’s website.
