Somewhat outrageously, it’s been 23 years since Disney changed the way we feel about rugs.

1992 hit musical Aladdin won two Oscars, featured a performance by Robin Williams that’s gone down in history as one of his best, and spawned no small number of attempts to recreate the magic live — one of which, on Broadway, has been running since 2011.

This year, Disney is re-releasing the movie with behind-the-scenes footage, including clips of Robin Williams, whose death by suicide shocked the world last year, warming up into character in the recording studio.

To promote the new push, Disney pulled Lea Salonga and Brad Kane — the singing voices behind the film’s two romantic leads — out of hibernation, dusted them off, put them on Good Morning America, and made them sing a song we all remember so fondly that there was almost no way they could possibly do it justice.
