In yet one more depressing story to squeeze in before 2014 finally goes the hell away, Sony pulled James Franco and Seth Rogen’s bromance comedy The Interview from distribution a couple of days ago after receiving threats of terrorist attacks against moviegoers should the film be widely released. Hack collective The Guardians of Peace is behind the threats, as well as the Sony email hacks that have been circulating for the last few weeks.

The North Korean government has been furious about The Interview for a long time, despite their legendary sense of humour, and the violent death of Kim Jong Un at the film’s climax is in no small part why. Given that you won’t be able to see the movie itself in cinemas any time soon, it’s fortuitous that some virtuous leaker has ensured you can watch thirty seconds of Kim Jong Un get immolated while an acoustic version of Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’ plays softly in the background.
