The Internet Is Going Insane For This Star-Packed Hoverboard Ad

A company called HUVr Tech is claiming they've invented the hoverboard. Best Coast, Moby and Tony Hawk got to ride it. Let's pretend this is real.

Despite our exploratory expeditions into Mars, our robot vacuum cleaners, and our freaky magic junk that repels water, humanity has always remained one step away from the pinnacle of technological achievement: 25 years after Back To The Future Part II dared us to dream, we still don’t have hoverboards. Well, until now! Maybe?

A company named HUVr Tech is actively fucking with our feels after releasing an epic video demonstrating a “real-life” hoverboard in action. The video features celebrity cameos galore from the likes of Tony Hawk, Moby, Best Coast and Dr. Emmett Brown (“Great Scott!”) himself, who gets all teary-eyed, muttering “This just goes way beyond.” “This board has more technology within it than the satellites we sent to space in 2010,” adds a convincingly-trousered science guy (who also explained the whole thing to Billy Zane).

Obviously, science heathens are skeptical. Curious types did some digging and discovered that HUVr Tech’s minimal website — featuring the message “The future has arrived”, and a Delorean-type dashboard clock indicating December 2014 as our “destination” — was created by Funny Or Die, and is either just a clever skit or a marketing campaign for a new (and long-rumoured) Back To The Future installment. Geez, come on science heathens, let us dream for at least a day.
