Good news! Straight from its premiere at New York Comic Con this weekend, we now have out first look at the second season of Daredevil. After receiving rave reviews last year noting the series’ sophisticated use of ultra-violence, the showrunners have made a point to expand on the unrelentingly gritty world they created. Resolving to make the show “darker [and] more emotional”, they’ve used the first teaser to introduce both Elektra and Punisher.

Slightly less good news! We only get to see Elektra for a moment as she pulls fabric over her face and the back of Punisher’s head as he walks down a hospital corridor with a gun. Also, the series won’t premiere until some time in 2016.

Sorry in advance (the new footage is from 1.30):

If it’s any consolation, Netflix’s second Marvel adaptation will be along much sooner. The first episode of Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones was previewed in its entirety at Comic Con this weekend and is not only scoring five-star reviews, but starting all sorts of interesting conversations about sexuality.

Not only are critics applauding the show for a frank and refreshing depiction of sex on screen, it will also achieve an exciting landmark — the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be getting its first lesbian character.

Jessica Jones premieres on Netflix November 20.
