If this how Australia deals with an online form, actual aliens would have us beat within the hour.
Insiders video editor Huw Parkinson is legendary for his ability to take the most inane elements of Australian politics and stitch them together with some of cinema’s most iconic moments. Christopher Pyne’s “fixer” quote now seems inextricably linked to the Death Star. Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard’s in-fighting has forever slightly tarnished the work of John Hughes. But his latest — the highs and lows of the government’s census fuck ups woven through the wild-eyed panic of Independence Day — might be the purest example of the Auspol-shaming form yet.
Considering this was the government’s response to an online form, it’s fair to say actual aliens would have us beat within the hour.
