The first two days of Coachella wrapped up over the weekend, with news from California dominated by the long-awaited Outkast reunion (“There were moments of greatness, but there was also plenty that was cringeworthy,” writes our sister site FasterLouder), Lorde’s stunning set, and that time Pharrell had to fight a dust storm with Nelly, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Diplo and Gwen Stefani.

While Jay-Z made his own appearance during Nas’ ‘Dead Presidents’ revival, the best story from the Knowles-Carter quarter came from Solange’s set on Saturday night. Closing the show with ‘Losing You’, keen-eyed observers watched as her big sister quietly popped on stage to perform back-up dancing duties. As murmurs of recognition gave way to the screams that accompany Beyoncé wherever she goes, the pair kept on dancing until the song’s end — at which point Bey jumped all over her sister like an over-excited and extremely beautiful and talented spaniel, lifting her off the ground before jogging off-stage with as little fanfare as she’d arrived.

“Give it up for my favorite dance partner, my favourite person in the world — my sister Beyoncé!” Solange yelled. And everyone went “awwwwww”.
