Happy fucking Friday, everyone: Tame Impala have just shared three previously unreleased songs as part of a new Currents B-Sides & Remixes EP.

Two of the tracks — ‘Powerlines’, and ‘Taxi’s Here’ — were recorded by Kevin Parker around the time that he was pulling together the 2015 album Currents. But, for whatever reason, they didn’t make the final record.

The other, called ‘List Of People (To Try And Forget About)’, dates back to the Lonerism sessions.

“It was one of the first songs I started writing really more towards the end of Lonerism, which is how I do it with songs/albums overlapping like that,” Parker told Beats 1 host Zane Lowe of the track.

“I guess one of the reasons it didn’t end up on the album is because it was started on so early and I was so over it by the time I was finishing the album, but by the time I got to finish it I was really satisfied with it as a song, and as a chunk of my creativity and emotion and stuff.”

Apart from the three originals, the EP features a remix of ‘Reality In Motion’ by Impala member and GUM artist Jay Watson, and a Soulwax remix of ‘Let It Happen’.

The release is part of the Currents Collector’s Edition, which is out today. Listen to the full EP below.
