Well, we’ve been banging on about it all month and now it’s finally here. Air Max Day, the pinnacle of Air Max Month, and it’s not hyperbolic to say there’ll be plenty of happy feet parading their kicks on the back streets of Surry Hills tomorrow.

Open to every Max-loving sneaker geek who happens to be in the greater Sydney area this weekend, the day will dedicate itself to the art and design behind the Air Max and let you stickybeak Nike collections from some of Australia’s most intense passionate collectors.
The heritage listed corner building will host three levels of a pop-up Air Max Lab, which has been transformed into an interactive experience open to the public to explore. This style’s been a sartorial stable of fashion icons from Ghostface Killah to Dizzee Rascal to Drake, and now’s you chance to figure out why.
What They’re Packing
– Curated Air Max collections from some of Australia’s premiere collectors.
– An interactive and immersive sneaker design experience focusing on a fascinating partnership – the collaboration between Nike chief executive Mark Parker, designer Tinker Hatfield and cultural consultant Hiroshi Fujiwara.
– Design, art and installations inspired by Air Max from some of Australia’s best artists which we already told you about.
– The latest Nike sneaker launches, including the Air Max BW Ultra, and the opportunity for fans to shop directly in the Lab.
– And the big reveal: custom sneaker services including a cleaning station, and a lace and dubrae bar.
For those who can’t join the Sydney action live in Sydney, Nike is calling on all fans to ‘wear their air’ – snapping pics in their favourite Air Max kicks, and sharing them using the hashtag #AirMax.
