Stephen Colbert Has Seven-Year-Olds Explain The US Election; They Don’t Like Trump Either

"He wants to put a wall through the Mexicans in America."

The US presidential election has been pretty silly so far. People are spending a lot of time discussing tacos, speculating as to whether Republican nominees are actually world-famous serial killers (who were fathered by the guy who shot JFK) and dancing on Ellen to prove that they’re fun.

The lunacy of election season has not been lost on Stephen Colbert, who got a bunch of seven-year-olds to break down the presidential candidates on The Late Show. Really, the election is not so different from the antics of school kids. Hillary Clinton is “the girl who gets straight As who doesn’t understand why she’s not more popular”, Bernie Sanders is “the older guy who graduated years ago but keeps hanging around with kids” and the other candidates are “the kids who were bullied so badly that they just went home”.

That’s a lot of kids!

Colbert then chats to a bunch of adorable little humans who decide Ted Cruz either looks like a snake or Stephen Colbert himself (“I forgive all of you,” he says). A little girl named Avery confesses that Bernie Sanders makes her “confused”, and another young man explains that Donald Trump “wants to put a wall through the Mexicans in America” and also, that his fake hair is simply “a creepy creature that crawled on top of him”.

I mean, that pretty much sums it up.

Wow, Hillary really is losing the young female vote.
