Between Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther, it feels as though we have forgotten that Solo: A Star Wars Story is the next big blockbuster to come out at cinemas. But come out it has, and wow are reviewers stoked.

We don’t have any full reviews yet — they’re embargoed until the film is properly released in a few weeks time. But what we can see are clues from the tweets of those who were lucky enough to catch an early showing.

(And don’t worry — there are no spoilers ahead.)

What A Surprise, Donald Glover Is A Talented God Of A Man

Glover plays Lando Calrissian in Solo, the guy who originally owned the Millennium Falcon. The trailer showed him looking very schnazzy, and fans have high hopes for his performance in the film. Fortunately, it sounds like he lives up to that expectation.

The first act of SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY can be hit and miss clunky. But once Donald Glover’s Lando shows up (who is legit fantastic) and the Kessel Run heist plot kicks in, it’s a whole lot of fun. (And those who’ve always wanted a Han and Chewbacca shower scene are in luck.)

It’s Also Pretty Different To The Rest Of The Star Wars Franchise

A lot of people are saying that this one’s a bit different, because there isn’t a Death Star to explode or a galaxy at stake.
