After sitting pretty in the number one spot for nearly a year, Drake’s hit ‘One Dance’ has been surpassed as the most-streamed track ever on Spotify.

Ed Sheeran’s dance-pop smash ‘Shape Of You’ has shot past ‘One Dance’ to claim the top spot. At the time of writing, ‘Shape Of You’ has clocked up 1,325,384,303 spins on the streaming service, while ‘One Dance’ is lagging behind with only 1,319,178,669 plays.

‘Shape Of You’ also holds the record for the most streams in one day on Spotify, raking in over 10 million plays on its March 3 release date. And with 56,727,861 plays in 24 hours, Sheeran’s album Divide also holds the record for the most streams of an album on one day.

But don’t feel too bad for Drake: the Canadian rapper is still the most streamed artist on the service, with more than 4.7 billion streams to his name in 2016.

Both artists will have big Australian tours in the pipeline over the next six months. Drake will be here in November with his Boy Meets World tour, while Sheeran will touch down next March for a huge stadium tour across the country.
