If House of Cards: Canberra actually existed, it would revolve around the evil machinations of the ambitious Kevin Rudd as he manipulated, lied and weasled his way into the Prime Ministership, back-stabbing his colleagues and stomping on his foes. Burt Newton would play Kevin, Judith Lucy would be his wife Therese, Bella Heathcote would play the plucky young journalist, Julia Gillard would be played by Jane Turner, and nobody would watch it because it would be terrible.
