Sia Furler pens quirky indie pop tunes and makes her own costumes out of cardboard boxes and whatever else is lying around. Céline Dion belts out insane, histrionic love ballads from the deck of a fake Titanic, and dresses like the window of a Swarovski Crystal store.

One performs to crowds at muddy festivals, the other had a Vegas show.

The two could not be more different. But now they’re working together.

In late June, the above leaked demo for an upcoming Céline Dion single called ‘Love Me Back To Life’ appeared on YouTube. The sound quality was a little rough and unpolished, but the song featured stirring strings and the kind of big chorus you’d expect from one of Ms. Dion’s anthems. The husky vocals, however, were unmistakably Sia’s.

Céline Dion has since started performing the song, which is to be the title track from her upcoming album.

Look how sparkly she is!

This musical hook-up isn’t as strange as it might first appear. Over the past couple of years, Sia has established herself as a bona fide pop star, making club bangers with the likes of David Guetta, Ne-Yo and Flo-Rida. But she’s also carved out a career behind the scenes, writing songs for some of the biggest names in pop.

For instance: if you had the phrase “shine bright like a diamond” stuck in your head for a large portion of last year, you have Sia to thank for it. She co-wrote the Rihanna hit, along with Benny Blanco and Stargate.

She also had a hand in Rita Ora’s ‘Radioactive’, co-writing the track with pop mastermind Greg Kurstin, who’s worked with everyone from Katy Perry to Tegan & Sara — and she’s become Christina Aguilera’s go-to, too. She penned three tracks from Aguilera’s Bionic, joining an impressive list of collaborators that also include the likes of M.I.A. and Le Tigre. (At the time, Sia was one half of pop’s cutest couple along with Le Tigre’s JD Samson, but the two have since broken up. Aww.)

Sia is everything.
