Writer-director Taika Waititi is having a productive couple of months. He charmed the pants off audiences around the world with his sensational comedy Hunt for the Wilderpeople, and is currently in Queensland with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston shooting his follow-up, a little indie production titled Thor: Ragnarok. He even managed to find the time to direct a three and a half minute short about what the Asgardian was getting up to while the rest of the Avengers duked it out in Civil War.

But as pumped as we are to see the New Zealander’s take on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we just got word on another Waititi project that has us even more excited. Specifically, he and his regular collaborator Jemaine Clement are developing a six-part TV series inspired by their 2014 vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show will be titled Paranormal Event Response Unit, and will follow hapless police officers Mike and Karen as they investigate supernatural occurrences around Wellington. No word on whether Waititi and Clement will reprise their roles as bloodsuckers Viago and Vladislav.

In  addition to the television series, there is also reportedly a big screen sequel in the works. With the genius title We’re Wolves, it is expected to follow the pacifist werewolves from the original film, led by alpha male Rhys Darby.
