Cardi B, Charli XCX, Bebe Rexha And Rita Ora’s Song ‘Girls’ Is Our Generation’s ‘Lady Marmalade’

Meet your new favourite song.

It’s been 17 long years since Xtina, Lil’ Kim, Mýa, and Pink teamed up for their now legendary version of ‘Lady Marmalade‘ — a song which inspired millions to speak French very badly.

There hasn’t been a girl group collaboration on the level of ‘Marmalade’ since then, but Rita Ora’s new feature-loaded single ‘Girls’ could give it a run for its money. The track features none other than ‘Boys’ hitmaker Charli XCX, rapper Cardi B, and songwriter/producer Bebe Rexha — who you might know from Martin Garrix’s massive single ‘In The Name Of Love’.

The track is an ode to bisexuality and kissing ladies: “Sometimes, I just wanna kiss girls, girls, girls,” the chorus goes. “Red wine, I just wanna kiss girls, girls, girls.”

Honestly, same. While all the singers bring their A-game, it’s Cardi B that comes through with the best bars of the track, dropping in lines about scissoring and masturbation.

Funnily enough, Cardi accidentally threw a bit of shade at the rest of the ‘Girls’ group way back in January — writing in a tweet that she was collaborating with three other artists but that they are “not big”:

Classic Cardi. Whether they’re big or not, they still pulled off one hell of a bop.
