The Powerpuff Girls Reboot Is Adding A Fourth Member And Fans Are Not Happy
That's why her hair is so big. It's full of secrets.
One of the great mysteries of our time is what goes on behind the scenes when a beloved TV series is rebooted.
You’d think it’s a simple process: find something that people love and are nostalgic for, and make more of it. And yet, time after time, someone involved has an ~extremely genius~ moment and feels the need to make a change that alienates fans and threatens to tank the franchise.
Enter Cartoon Network, with a fourth Powerpuff Girl.
Fans: they may have tarnished Powerpuff Girls as characters, but at least it's the same characters.

Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup — an iconic trio — will be joined by a mysterious new Powerpuff Girl later this month. The new addition will make her debut in a five-part movie event and, in Australia and New Zealand, she’ll be voiced by Chinese-Australian Youtube star Wengie.
Fans are… not on board.

imagine your reboot flopping so fucking hard that you have to force in a new character as a desperate attempt to stay relevant https://t.co/06dtO0M7pj

We know very little about the new character other than that she is extremely tall and her hair alone is the size of the other three Powerpuff Girls combined. We’re sure she’ll fit right in.

And while there does seem to be a rumour going around that the new Powerpuff Girl is black, it’s pretty likely that the pic that’s been circulating is fake. It’s definitely not one of the official promo pics, and while some people are claiming it’s a leak, given that the Powerpuff Girls are basically constructed from a series of ovals any kid with a copy of MS Paint could have made the below:
SO THEY HAVE A FOURTH POWERPUFF GIRL AND SHE IS BLACK??? I LOVE EVERYTHING pic.twitter.com/eEC59Jwa78

Anyway, you can find out the truth and judge for yourself when the new episodes are aired on September 23 and 24. A sneak peek of the first instalment will be available September 17 on the Foxtel Kids app, Stan, and Cartoon Network’s website and YouTube.
